RECENT HISTORICAL PROPANE PRICES IN THE BROOKTRAILS COMMUNITY
This graph was compiled by John Lemmer from data on propane cost per gallon, submitted by several of our members over the past two years. John invites your ongoing input of data to enhance the accuracy of his tracking over time.
It is interesting to observe that the prices between companies seem to oscillate "out of phase" at times. BPOA Suburban customers also have been getting a 10 gallon PROPANE gift each year. ( Max of two per family).

MINUTES OF A RECENT MEETING
Brooktrails Property Owners Association
St. Patrick's Day Dinner and Business Meeting
March 15, 2009

President, Bob Terry, called the Meeting to order at 5:35 pm.

The Minutes of the December 6th Christmas Dinner and meeting were approved as published. There were no communications received.

John Lemmer prepared a comparative graph of the propane providers for our information. It shows that Suburban and Ferrellgas are primarily the lower cost providers.

George Skezas gave us the report of the Treasury, which was approved as read.

A discussion was held to inform the members of the medical transport programs provided by CalStar and REACH. These are invaluable and reasonably priced. Each program is $45 per Family ($40 for Individuals). Membership provides for all costs exceeding insurance reimbursements or uninsured costs for medical transport. (NOTE: Since the meeting, both service providers have offered BPOA members in California a nice group rate! Check for details).

Linda Morrison, Chair of the Adopt-a-Road program, reported that there are unassigned areas in need of adoption. Please call her at 621-3831 if you can help.

The Financial Records of both BPOA and the Women's Club were audited and found to be correct by the end of the fiscal year.

Bob Terry again thanked the helpers for the Bike program. They were Bob Houtz, Bob Strader, Bob Arnold, Riley Moore, Carl Moberg and Roger Adamson. The Rotary was appreciative of their efforts (The Rotary Santas delivered the bikes for Christmas). There has been a request for 3 bikes outside of the Rotary needs. These are for older children who are wards of the court.

A nominating committee will be activated in June for the positions needed for the 2009-2010 year.

The phone book is in process. (Editor's note - Books are now printed and delivered, Thanks go to our ad sales staff: Dan Pabalate, Roy Johnson, Ginger Pohlson, George Skezas, & Richard Wartell !).

Linda Morrison has graciously accepted the chair for the Scholarship Committee this year. The following have expressed an interest in serving on the committee: Kathy Moberg, Rick Williams, Erin Vaccaro, Jean Johnson.

Betty Lemmer reported on the activities of the Women's Club. A Soup Luncheon was held in February, which brought in $100 for their treasury. They are also continuing to sell tickets for the beautiful quilt made by the Club quilters.

Bob Houtz reported that the Earthday Cleanup is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 22 and 23 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. It's recommended that we concentrate on the larger items. Contact Bob at 459-4373 if you can help.

There was no old business.

Under new business the president announced that we may be going to 1st class mail for our mailings. When the latest announcement and minutes were sent by bulk mail, it took two full weeks to be delivered.

George Skezas made a motion that $2009 be donated to the Howard Memorial Hospital Building Fund. This motion was seconded and passed.
George Skezas made a motion that $500 be donated to the Brooktrails Volunteer Firefighters Association. The motion was seconded and passed.

Pat Houtz expressed concern about the litter along Sherwood Road. Unfortunately this is not part of our Adopt-a-Road project.

Our sincere appreciation goes out to those who helped make this dinner a success. There were 67 attendees. Bob Terry and George Skezas cooked the meat and cabbage over at the Firehouse. The additional dinner preparers, decorators, servers & cleanup crew included Betty Lemmer, Georgia Galey, Zelda Skezas, Sherry Terry, Jodie Moore, Arlane Adamson, Gerrie Lassner and Bev Johnson . Jeanne Wolfe, Zelda Skezas, Linda Morrison and Chuck Jones also helped serve. Chuck Anderson, ably assisted by Bernice, tended the Bar. Beth and Bob Strader made the name tags and checked everyone in. If the Secretary missed someone, she apologizes.

Our Annual Business meeting will be held in August on a day as yet to be determined.

The BPOA website will be updated this coming week with Women's Club info, our Propane gas cost chart, and pictures of recent activities. The link to our site is thru the district web site at www.btcsd.org, then select BPOA.

The meeting was adjourned for dinner.
Respectfully Submitted,
Arlane L. Adamson, Secretary
