BROOKTRAILS WOMEN'S CLUB
FEB 10, 2010
The meeting was called to order by President, Arlane Adamson. Our guests, Pat Wilson and Marge
Handley, were introduced.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written.
Treasurer's report was given..
Committee reports:
Craft Fair - Arlane will get a copy of the vendors from Batty Lemmer
Membership - Lynn asked that we include our birthday date on the sign up sheet and update any
emergency contact.
Nominating Committee will be co-chaired by Betty Lemmer, Georgia Galey and Lynn Williams
Brown Bag - Sara reported that the next meeting will be at 2:30 in the Library on Saturday, Feb.6.
Scholarship - Checks were mailed to both of our scholarship students.
Publicity - no news
Meals on wheels - It was suggested that we check Monica's mailbox. Sometimes it is full. Sara and
Betty volunteered to substitute for Georgia who is having surgery March 8.
Quilt - A new quilt is in progress. Georgia moved that we purchase a quilt rack for displaying the quilts.
Motion passed. Georgia will research it.
Unfinished Business: It was suggested that the officers and chair persons be listed on the membership
list. They are now, according to Lynne.
New Business:
Fund Raising:Mary suggested we purchase cards from a local painter to sell to raise funds. May 7 th. the
artist will have the finished art. We could start selling by May 22.
Poker- Legality was questioned. Many other groups are doing it in Willits. No alcohol is served. Jody
will need help with the taking in of money at that night. We will have food donated by the Wclub. Call
Sara or Jody if you can help.
Announcements:
BPOA St PatrickÆs Dinner will be March 14, 4:30 social, 5:30 meeting and 6PM dinner. Desserts will
be made by Betty L, Marge, Norma, Amy and Iris. Soda Bread will be made by Jody (3), Arlene (2),
Sara ? and Lynn( 3).
The March meeting will be soup and salad for $5-7 (to be decided later). Amy, Betty and Roberta will
be hostesses.
A donation of $1000.00 to the Brooktrails fire department was suggested by Georgia Galey. Motion
passed.
Norma Lowe announced pinochle on Tuesdays and someone was injured by the loose strips around the
hearth. They have been repaired.
Lynn made a motion to purchase the containers needed for our cabinet and Kyle 2nd. Motion passed.
Plastic containers will be purchased by Arlane . Arlane, Dorit, Nadine and Helen will assist in cleanup.
Thank you to Sara, Iris and Jane for the lovely desserts and flower gifts.
Speaker:
Marge Handley gave us the great news that there is a new ôintentö from Adventist Health to build the
hospital. Final documents will be done in 60 days. The Foundation can now spend the current funds to
begin the Diabetes and Wellness Center. The hospital permits will take about 1 year and then 18
months to build.
Dorit made a motion to donate $750 to the Howard Hospital Foundation. Seconded by Lynn. Motion
passed.
